// Sara & Peter \\ Tree Tops Park Wedding

Capturing Sara & Peter’s wedding at Bonaventure and Tree Tops Park in Davie, FL was a pretty cool experience because Tree Tops is where I got married back in 2012, a time when I had no idea I wanted to do wedding photography!

Sara and I met back in 2010 on a trip to Israel, so when she called to say she was engaged and wanted me to be her photographer, I was excited to give my services to someone from such a beautiful time in my past! Though it had been years, Sara was just as kind and warm-hearted as I had remembered, and it was even more exciting to go back and shoot a wedding where I had said “I do” 7 years ago.

As I looked back through these photos, I learned about two important details that I was glad to have paid attention to, even though I didn’t know the significance at the time: Sara wore a watch her father had given her and carried a single yellow rose in her bouquet to honor him. It’s never easy to have lost a parent, and the pain of it is amplified on a wedding day. However, it’s these small meaningful touches that can make their presence felt at such an important life-changing event. Like Sara, I also had my brother walk me down the aisle in lieu of my dad who passed away when I was young, so the reminder was bittersweet for me to capture, but a truly beautiful moment.

In order to protect the privacy of the groom’s colleagues who work in law enforcement, I’m unable to share many of the reception photos, but was given permission to share that which depicted the happy couple, their bridal party, and their families.

Here are a handful from Sara & Peter’s special day!
