As a teenager and now an adult, I’ve driven by The Addison restaurant in Boca Raton multiple times a week, wondering what the inside of this Spanish-inspired building looked like on a wedding day, and my questions were answered in such an exciting way when I was asked to shoot Ellen & Joe’s elegant wedding!

I knew Joe & his sister Sarah from our college days at FAU. Sarah and I were even in a wedding of our good friend together a few years back! So when she called me to ask if I was available in a month’s time to shoot her brother’s wedding, I jumped at the chance to be part of such a special day for their family.

It was a unique experience as Ellen doesn’t speak much English, but I’m no stranger to being in a room full of Brazilians rapidly conversing in Portuguese! And even though I only know a few important words like “brigadeiro” (the BEST dessert, ever!), there were plenty of English-speakers to help me communicate with the glamorous bride, including the lovely coordinator’s assistant at The Addison (they really know how to run a wedding day!).

From the simple yet elegant (there’s that word again…can’t help it! It just was SO elegant!) details, to the outrageously fun bridal party that made me wish I was one of them, and the totally GORGEOUS lighting, this day was definitely one for the books!
