Me, in a nutshell...  

I'm a Long Island native, South Florida raised, now living in Winston-Salem, NC with my fantastic husband and our absolute dream of a rescue dog, Jenga (I miiiiiight be obsessed with her... #dogmom). When I'm not behind my camera, I'm usually baking in the sun at the beach (shout out to my parents for blessing me with skin that doesn't easily burn or I'd be an eternal lobster), teaching violin lessons, lounging around with my dog and husband (probably watching "The Office" or Harry Potter, letsbehonest), plotting with my friends about how we're going to take over the world (half kidding...), or being my introverted self (INFJ for all you Myers-Briggs enthusiasts!) sitting in nature with my journal & a mug of Early Grey.

Things that will make us fast friends if you love them as much as I do:

How it all started... 

     Okay, time for a little honesty: Photography was never my dream. I actually had no idea I even wanted to do it until a few years ago! Growing up as a classically-trained violinist and attending a magnet high school for the arts in West Palm Beach, Florida, artistic expression has always been front and center in my life. But even while being constantly surrounded by all that creativity, photography wasn't even on my radar as anything other than doing impromptu MySpace photo shoots for my friends (remember those days?) and my dinosaur of a digital camera. Sure, I had a knack for knowing how to get the most "I'm such a deep and emotional teenager" look in a photograph, but that's as far as it went. 

     I graduated FAU in 2011 a clueless twenty-something with a dutifully-earned Bachelors in Social Work and not a dang idea what to do next. It wasn't until I married my high school sweetheart, who just happened to be photography-savvy, that a lightbulb went off; he saw the pictures I was snapping with my little point-and-shoot camera and said, "I was trained in this...but you're better than me!" Believing I had something worth nurturing, he put a real camera in my hands and encouraged me to go for it. My angsty emo portraiture days were over, because ALAS! I had discovered that documenting weddings and couples in love was the most fun & rewarding thing I'd ever done as a "job."
